We, the Mbooni Water and Sanitation Company (MBONWASCO), were incorporated on
8th March 2012 under the Companies Act Cap 486 Laws of Kenya following the
enactment of the Water Act 2002, which introduced reforms in the water sector.
The company was initially formed by the former County Council of Makueni, with
ownership later transferred to the Government of Makueni County.
Our operations are guided by the Water Act 2016 and related sector regulations,
enabling us to provide clean, safe, and reliable water services across our
service area. We currently manage seven active water sources, with daily
production ranging between 80–200 cubic metres of water.
MBONWASCO serves an estimated population of approximately 141,361 people across
Tulimani, Kisau/Kiteta, Kako/Waia, Kithungo/Kitundu, Mbooni, and Kalawa Wards,
with a total of 1,678 registered water connections.
